As you know, Ontario is now under a “stay at home” order that affects outdoor activities. The LPCA recently received clarification from the city on how this order affects our neighbourhood rink. As long as the “stay at home” order is in effect, these rules must be followed: 1) Masks must be worn around the rink (within 10 ft.) but do not need to be worn when skating; 2) Maximum 25 people on the rink at one time; and, 3) No hockey sticks or pucks permitted on the ice. Update on beaver issue in Graham Creek as of January 11, 2021
The City has confirmed that the beaver was located and removed from the site on January 7/8. The supervisors inspected the site on January 11th for any remaining debris of concern and have confirmed everything is clear at this time. Message from the City of Ottawa regarding issue with beaver in Graham Creek
As was reported last week, the LPCA has asked the City of Ottawa to handle the issue with the beaver in Graham Creek. A licensed trapper has been contracted and the intent is to trap and relocate. The trapper has attended the site in the past week, but has not been able to locate the current home base for removal purposes.
